Who initiates the process and how?

Depending on the situation, the process may be initiated by the landholder themselves (when a renouncement is taking place), or by the VLC/headperson or Chief. In the case of landholder and VLC/headperson, an application is triggered to the Chief.

The VLC/headperson will make updates to the village land register to reflect the cancellation.
