What happens to the land?

The land in question may:

  • Revert to the stock of communal village land that is available for allocation by the customary authorities
  • Be re-allocated immediately by the Chief or VLC/headperson

In the latter case, for certification of the parcel, the same procedures as for the allocation of a new parcel should be followed.

A Village Overview Map

This is what a Village Overview Map looks like. It shows the village boundary of Kausiku, in Maguya Chiefdom, and the boundaries and numbers of all the Map Sheets that are needed for the village catalogue.

This Village Overview Map is for Kalichero village, also in Maguya. Note that this village has two separate areas that have been identified during the village mapping process; in this case, all the rectangles from both of these areas will need to be included in the Village Map Catalogue.
